Former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di’Anno says he had just “45 minutes to live” during last year’s health scare.

Di’Anno says he had to be flown by medevac from Argentina: “When I arrived in England, I only had 45 minutes to live, with sepsis and that. So they pumped me full of antibiotics. I spent eight months in hospital.”

He says Iron Maiden helped out by paying for his “last couple of months’ worth of treatments” – something he’s “forever grateful” for.

Di’Anno fronted Iron Maiden from 1978-1981 and sang on the band’s first two studio albums.
