Now that Judas Priest has finally been honored by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, frontman Rob Halford has apparently decided to focus on getting other long-overdue acts inducted.

Iron Maiden, which is on the current ballot, is “absolutely overdue,” Halford says. He adds, “I vote for them every day. You can do it by phone and it’s dead easy. It takes you to the list of nominees, then you pick the bands you are voting for — and I pick Maiden every single day.”

Unfortunately, Halford’s efforts don’t appear to be working just yet. Rock Hall data reveals Iron Maiden is trailing such acts as Cyndi Lauper, George Michael, Soundgarden and Warren Zevon. This year’s inductees will be announced in May, Rock Hall officials say.
