Styx has recruited a new bassist with a personal connection to the band.
Terry Gowan has been announced as a full-time member, after filling in this spring for the departing Ricky Phillips.
He’s the younger brother of keyboardist and singer Lawrence Gowan. Lawrence, Terry, and current Styx drummer Todd Sucherman previously played together in Lawrence’s solo band Gowan.
Guitarist Tommy Shaw says Terry “fits right in”, both with his bass playing and his vocals.
Styx is currently touring Canada and will launch the ‘Renegades & Juke Box Heroes Tour’ with Foreigner next month.
