Baby Huey and Chasta are back giving you the latest Rock and Roll news on the latest edition of Yesterday’s News Today.

Classic East and West Festival

Some of Classic Rocks most iconic bands got together in Los Angeles this weekend for the Classic West music festival. The acts included rock and roll legends such as Fleetwood Mac, The Doobie Brothers and Journey to name a few. According to Variety Magazine:

Listening to McVie’s band again reenact the crazy experiment in which the lushest soft rock is set to an impossibly muscular rhythm section, or hearing Earth Wind & Fire recreate a peculiar niche of soul that should have lived forever instead of going as extinct as the carrier pigeon, you, too, could have a moment of being lulled into advocating for the Me Decade as the Greatest Generation.

Billie Joe and Tim Armstrong’s new punk super group

Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong and Tim Armstrong from Rancid along with Billie’s son and Tim’s nephew have created a new punk group aptly named The Armstrong’s. They have recently released a new benefit song called “If There Was Ever a Time” all proceeds of which will go towards keeping 924 Gilman in Berkley up and running. Tim Armstrong said this in an interview with Rolling Stone:

“It was exciting to work on this song with Billie and crew for the film,” Armstrong said in a statement (via Alternative Press). “Stoked to share the tune with everyone out there and to be donating all the proceeds to Gilman, which is a place so near, dear, and important to us.”
