What Album Defines AC/DC? Angus Young’s Choice May Surprise You

What AC/DC album would you put on for somebody who has never heard of the band? It’s hard to imagine there are people walking this earth who have never heard of AC/DC, we agree. But Angus Young was asked this question a few weeks ago during an interview, and his answer was Let There Be Rock. What would your answer be?

Chasta says it’s an interesting choice, “…because it’s a ‘small album’ when it comes to sales, and influence in rock n roll. If you ask most people the definitive AC/DC album they’re gonna say it’s Back in Black, Highway to Hell, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, or even High Voltage (their debut). It’s an interesting choice. But I like the ‘why’ behind Angus’ answer, where he talks about the album being pure rock n roll magic. It’s full of hard and heavy guitars in a time of punk and new wave.”

We agree, Chasta! While Let There Be Rock isn’t the most obvious choice, it is absolutely one of their best, most raw, hard-hitting, rocking albums ever.
