Motorcycle Safety Month Tips

It’s Motorcycle Safety Month and 107.7 The Bone wants help make the roads a safer place for all riders. Zakk commutes daily on his Harley-Davidson to his afternoon show here on The Bone and throughout the month he was joined by “Budman” from the Bay Area Riders Forum and the California Motorcycle Safety Committee to bring you rider safety tips.

Below are three tips on how we can all make the roads a safe place!

Lane Splitting
While commonplace among riders in California for many years, a bill was passed in August of 2016 making lane-splitting officially legal.

The SMIDSY Technique
This is an acronym for “Sorry Mate, I Didn’t See You” and also a technique to help drivers see and notice motorcycles on the open road.

General Tips
From beginners to lifelong riders, safety is of the upmost importance and here are some basic tips for all riders.
