Foo Fighters wrapped up their week-long residency on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with a special performance of Gerry Rafferty’s 1978 classic “Baker Street.” The cover marked the band’s only non-original performance during the late-night television run, with Dave Grohl and company putting their signature rock sound on the iconic track. Grohl has previously described “Baker Street” as one of his guilty pleasures, making the performance a fitting way to close out the band’s series of appearances.
The performance highlighted the Foo Fighters’ appreciation for classic rock influences outside their own catalog. Throughout the residency, the band showcased its original music before surprising fans with the Rafferty cover. The group has a history with “Baker Street,” having previously recorded its own version of the song in 1997. The latest performance offered fans another chance to hear the Foo Fighters’ take on the classic hit.
