Foo Fighters delivered a performance of their song “Window” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, showcasing a southern rock-inspired groove before Grohl sang, “I saw your face, there in the window/You were a window cleaner,” concluding with a subtle guitar solo.
Grohl shared that the inspiration for “Window” came from wanting to create a simple bass line for his daughter Harper, who was learning the instrument, stating, “I’m gonna write a song … that she can come upstairs and put a bass line on.”
He elaborated on the song’s theme, describing a relatable scenario: “I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a hotel room where you’re lying there in your skivvies, and the curtains are open, and all of a sudden, here comes the window cleaner guy,” highlighting the intimate moments window cleaners witness.
The performance kicked off a weeklong ‘takeover’ of Kimmel’s show by the Foos.
