Noodles, the lead guitarist and background vocalist for The Offspring, announced he’s taking a break from live performances due to a sudden and serious health issue.
Noodles, whose real name is Kevin John Wasserman, expressed gratitude for the support of his bandmates Dexter Holland, Todd Morse, Jonah Nimoy, and Brandon Pertzborn during his absence.
The guitarist hopes to return to the stage “sooner rather than later” and thanked fans for their thoughts and support.
The Offspring, formed in 1984 in Garden Grove, is known for reviving punk rock music in the ’90s and has produced hits like “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid,” “The Kids Aren’t Alright,” and “Pretty Fly (For a White Guy).”
The band’s next scheduled performance is on October 24 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles as part of Slave 2 Nothing’s annual Rock 2 Freedom show.
