The Tom Petty Estate has released a video for the extended, newly mixed version of “Fooled Again (I Don’t Like It),” drawing on the band’s 1978 performance on the British TV show The Old Grey Whistle Test.
Bob Harris, the BBC host, described the performance as “one of the greatest performances we had ever seen by a band at the top of their game.”
The full 41-minute set from the performance will be included in Origins 1971-1978, presented in HD for the first time with restored audio.
Ryan Ulyate, the band’s longtime producer and engineer, has remixed and remastered the band’s 1976 debut album for its 50th anniversary.
The collection, Origins 1971-1978, includes new mixes of every track on the band’s 1978 follow-up album, You’re Gonna Get It!, with extended tracks like “American Girl” and “Breakdown” featured across the two albums.
