Rush have postponed their scheduled concert in San Jose, California, after drummer Anika Nilles fell ill with the flu. The legendary progressive rock band announced that the performance has been rescheduled for December 6, 2026, with all previously purchased tickets remaining valid for the new date. Guitarist Alex Lifeson expressed his disappointment over the unexpected postponement, saying, “It’s a real bummer. We’re crestfallen.”
The postponement comes during Rush’s highly anticipated Fifty Something tour, marking the band’s first major return to the stage in more than a decade. The tour is also the group’s first since the death of longtime drummer Neil Peart in 2020. Original members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are joined by acclaimed drummer Anika Nilles and keyboardist Loren Gold, bringing a new lineup to the band’s celebrated catalog of progressive rock classics.
Despite the setback, Rush’s return has been a significant moment for longtime fans eager to experience the band’s music live once again. With Nilles recovering from the flu, the San Jose performance is now scheduled for December 6, giving Bay Area fans another opportunity to see the legendary group. Ticket holders can use their original tickets for the rescheduled show.
