Chasta and Baby Huey caught up with Alissa White-Gluz of Blue Medusa backstage at Aftershock to talk about the new project that has become her number-one creative focus. Rather than viewing Blue Medusa as starting over, Alissa explained that she’s taking everything she has learned and accomplished throughout her career and putting it into a band and group of musicians she believes deserve that commitment. She described herself as “obsessed” with the project and admitted she wishes she had pursued something like it 10 years ago.
Alissa also discussed balancing Blue Medusa with her role in DragonForce, staying personally connected with her fans and the intense workload involved in building a new band. The conversation also touched on her dedication to fitness, her relationship with Doyle, the iconic legacy of the Misfits and their collaboration with Sea Shepherd on a custom guitar that was auctioned to benefit the organization. Looking ahead, Alissa revealed that Blue Medusa will spend next summer playing festivals throughout Europe, with more plans still to be announced.
