Rivers Cuomo of Weezer painted his skin gold to support their upcoming album, “The Gold Album,” during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Weezer performed their lead single, “We Might as Well Be Strangers,” with Silversun Pickups bassist Nikki Monninger filling in as the guest vocalist.
The band members, including Monninger, wore gold-themed outfits and instruments during the performance.
Cuomo and drummer Patrick Wilson discussed their early music careers and the upcoming tour, “Weezer: The Gathering,” on the show.
Cuomo emphasized the importance of human collaboration in creating music, stating that their album “The Gold Album” could only be made by humans coming together and being vulnerable.
