Queen announced a cinema release for ‘Queen Budapest,’ the concert film of the 1986 show that saw the band headline the first stadium show by a Western band behind the Iron Curtain.
The film will be shown at London’s Roundhouse on October 3 with surround sound, synchronised lighting, and original Queen merchandise on display.
Brian May stated, “It’s going to be definitively the most real experience ever of us, Queen, in our glory days.”
Queen Budapest is significant as it represents the last filmed live performance of the band with Freddie Mercury, showing them at the height of their powers on the Magic tour.
The footage has been restored by a team led by Sir Peter Jackson and will be released in a multi-format package on October 30, including a newly remixed soundtrack and various physical and digital editions.
