Mick Jagger reveals that John Lennon advised him not to meet Elvis Presley, a decision he regrets.
Jagger told the story on Conan O’Brien’s podcast: “I remember John telling me, ‘Yeah you know, you should never meet your heroes… I would never meet Elvis, Mick, if I were you.’ And so I didn’t.”
The Rolling Stones frontman continued “I took John’s advice, which was really stupid of me, really. I mean, I would love to have met Elvis!”
Conan recalled stories about Lennon meeting Elvis in 1964 and coming away disappointed by the experience, but Jagger argued “Maybe my Elvis version would’ve been different.”
