Chris Daughtry has re-recorded 11 of his biggest hits, and plans to continue the project.
The singer explained it in a letter to his fans: “We decided that it would be fun to go back into the studio and re-record some of our older hits, and recreate them note-for-note… It was a lot of fun. So much so that I think we’ll probably eventually go back and finish the first album and the second album at least.”
Some fans received an early preview of the re-recorded tracks when they leaked online before the official release date.
Daughtry rose to fame after appearing on American Idol in 2006 and released a successful self-titled debut album shortly after.
Daughtry’s debut album reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts, making him the third most successful American Idol contestant in terms of record sales, behind Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson.
