Jason Newsted joined Blackberry Smoke on stage to perform a cover of Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak” at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater.
Newsted’s band, The Chophouse Band, began their first North American headlining tour on July 1, playing in cities like Albany, Alexandria, and Grand Rapids.
The Chophouse Band is supporting Blackberry Smoke for 10 shows in July, with the tour concluding at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
Newsted selected his band members for The Chophouse Band based on his favorite players and has been rehearsing monthly for the tour.
The Chophouse Band plays a mix of Americana genres, including bluegrass, folk, soul, rock, and heavy metal, with Newsted’s personal stories woven into the music.
