The Rolling Stones held a listening party in London to celebrate the release of their latest album, ‘Foreign Tongues,’ with Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood performing an impromptu version of the song “Ringing Hollow.”
Jagger described “Ringing Hollow” as a reflection on the American Dream and the decline of the American Empire in the current social and political climate of the United States.
Keith Richards, who did not perform at the listening party, hinted that “Ringing Hollow” was not specifically aimed at US President Donald Trump but rather conveyed a sense of disappointment with the current state of affairs in America.
Jagger raised questions about imperial overreach, the lobbying system, and the excessive spending on elections in the United States, suggesting a shift from the country’s previous ideals.
The album ‘Foreign Tongues’ was set to be released the day after the listening party, marking the Rolling Stones’ latest musical offering to their fans.
