Before he was the frontman of Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl was the drummer in Nirvana.
Grohl struggled to find his place in that band, as Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic shared a deep understanding that was hard to break into.
Despite Cobain’s reluctance to praise Grohl, he recognized Grohl’s talent and potential, even telling his manager that Grohl was a good singer.
Cobain’s competitive nature and envy may have influenced his reluctance to openly praise Grohl, but he knew Grohl would go on to become a star.
Grohl’s work ethic and drive, combined with Cobain’s gut feeling about his potential, eventually led to the formation and success of the Foo Fighters.
