The Chad Smith Foundation, co-founded by Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, is launching an After-School Music Program in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee was chosen as the “launch city” for the program due to the foundation team being based in the city, allowing for hands-on development before expanding to other cities.
The program partners with local organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, the Salvation Army, Notes for Notes, and Running Rebels to provide music instructors and instruments to students.
Chad Smith emphasized the importance of music education: “The only reason I became a musician is because I had access to music in school.”
The goal of the program is to remove barriers and provide access to music education through after-school programs, with plans to expand to more cities in the future.
