Legendary actor and cultural icon William Shatner is diving headfirst into heavy metal with a bold new album that blends massive guitars, cinematic scale, and his unmistakable spoken-word intensity. Known for blurring the line between storytelling and music, Shatner describes the project as his most ambitious heavy endeavor yet—equal parts sincerity, imagination, and controlled chaos.
Shatner has a long history of collaborating with boundary-pushing artists, including Zakk Wylde, Ritchie Blackmore, and Henry Rollins. This time, he’s assembling what he calls a “gathering of forces,” personally selecting metal musicians to help bring the vision to life.
The spark came from Shatner’s recent work with Nuclear Messiah on their upcoming album Black Flame, alongside former Megadeth guitarist Chris Poland. The new album will feature covers of Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden, alongside original material. Full details are expected soon.
