Arnold, who shot to fame as the voice behind hits like “Kryptonite,” revealed in May 2025 that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer that had spread to his lungs, forcing the band to cancel tour plans.
According to the band’s statement, he passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 7, 2026, with his wife, Jennifer, and family by his side.
The Mississippi native leaves behind a legacy as a defining voice of early-2000s rock, his songs continuing to resonate with fans around the world.
