Geezer Butler is reflecting on Black Sabbath’s early days and the unexpected success of their self-titled debut album.
The band faced criticism and accusations of being Satanists due to misinterpretation of their lyrics.
“Paranoid,” their second album, became a massive hit but Butler disliked the cover art, calling it the “worst cover ever.”
Tony Iommi defended the artwork, explaining that it was originally meant for a different title, “War Pigs,” which was banned.
