Green Day and Counting Crows, two bands with Bay Area roots, will perform together at an invite-only concert on San Francisco’s Pier 29 on Feb. 6, sponsored by FanDuel and Spotify.
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong expressed the desire to capture the unique underground scene of the Bay Area in the documentary “Turn It Around: The Story of East Bay Punk,” where the band served as executive producers.
Counting Crows, formed in Berkeley in 1991, reminisced about their early days in the Bay Area, with frontman Adam Duritz reflecting on the culture and freedom he witnessed growing up in San Francisco.
