Metallica’s headlining set at the 2008 ‘Pinkpop Festival’ was professionally filmed and shared online by the festival’s Pinkpop Archive channel.
Metallica played an 18-song set during their first appearance at the festival on May 30th, 2008.
The setlist included songs like “Creeping Death,” “For Whom The Bell Tolls,” “Master Of Puppets,” and covers of “Last Caress” by Misfits and “So What” by Anti-Nowhere League.
Metallica has returned to play at the Pinkpop Festival two more times after their 2008 performance, in 2014 and 2022.
The band’s performance at the festival in 2008 marked their first time on stage at the Landraaf, NET early summer institution.
