Gene Simmons paid tribute to late KISS guitarist Ace Frehley during a performance at the Love Ride charity motorcycle event.
Simmons expressed sadness over Frehley’s passing and his absence at the upcoming Kennedy Center Honors.
He told the crowd “In Ace’s memory, we’re gonna make sure one of the four chairs is empty with Ace’s name, because he deserves to be there in spirit, even if he can’t be there physically.”
Ace Frehley will receive a Kennedy Center Honor posthumously when KISS is honored on Dec. 6th.
Frehley’s cause of death was revealed to be blunt trauma injuries to his head due to a fall.
