Sammy Hagar has shared rare video footage of Van Halen performing “Poundcake” during a blizzard at a 1995 concert in Denver.
The show was so cold that Eddie Van Halen played half the set wearing gloves with the fingertips cut out. Bassist Michael Anthony later joked that the crowd looked like “Q-tips” bundled up in the snow—but noted that the extreme weather was no big deal for fans.
The performance of “Poundcake” is also one of the tracks Hagar will feature on his upcoming live album, “Sammy Hagar & The Best of All Worlds Band – The Residency,” set to be released on October 10, 2025. The album captures the energy of Hagar’s Las Vegas residency, revisiting Van Halen classics and more.
Hagar’s release not only celebrates the Red Rocker’s legacy but also pays tribute to unforgettable Van Halen moments—like this one-of-a-kind blizzard show that fans still talk about decades later.
