Wolfgang Van Halen recently reflected on the profound influence of Ozzy Osbourne in a new interview, describing the Black Sabbath icon as “more than the music… just this icon that taught you not to give a shit.” Wolfgang recalled performing Crazy Train alongside Maynard James Keenan, Chad Smith, and Robert Trujillo at Ozzy’s solo induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, calling it “a dream.”
He shared how special it felt to talk with Ozzy afterward, describing him as “very funny and very, very kind.” Though scheduling forced him to miss the Back To The Beginning tribute concert, Wolfgang said he was grateful for that Hall of Fame moment. He also honored the late Randy Rhoads, calling him “an incredible guitar player” who left an enduring legacy on rock.
