Mikkey Dee recently shared insight into his transition from Motorhead to Scorpions, a move that has reinvigorated the German rock legends. Initially joining as a temporary replacement for James Kottak due to health concerns, Dee ultimately became a permanent member of the band. He explained his mission was to bring precision, heaviness, and a bit of that classic Motorhead energy to Scorpions’ live and studio sound. “I have to be the rock back there,” he said, emphasizing his role in driving the band’s powerful performances.
Guitarist Rudolf Schenker praised Dee’s impact, noting the elevated synergy and energy he brings to the lineup. Scorpions’ latest album, Rock Believer, was recorded at Peppermint Park Studios in Hannover and mixed in Berlin, continuing the band’s legacy with a fresh, aggressive edge. Dee’s presence marks a new chapter—bridging two iconic rock worlds with undeniable force.
