Wolfgang Van Halen recently shared in a video that he no longer listens to Van Halen’s music, citing deeply personal reasons. As the son of guitar legend Eddie Van Halen, Wolfgang joined the iconic band in 2006 at just 15 years old and recorded one studio album with them. Since his father’s passing in 2020, Wolfgang has continued to express deep respect for Eddie’s monumental impact on music, acknowledging how his father’s innovative guitar style influenced an entire era and inspired countless imitators throughout the 1980s.
Despite his pride in the band’s legacy, Wolfgang admits that listening to Van Halen now carries an emotional weight that’s difficult to process. Instead, he has focused on his own musical journey, fronting his project Mammoth WVH, and carving out a path that both honors his roots and defines his individuality.
