Foo Fighters paid a special tribute to the late Steve Albini during Thursday’s show in Charlotte, NC.
Frontman Dave Grohl dedicated “My Hero” to Albini, calling him “a friend that we lost the other day, who I’ve known a long, long time.”
Grohl added “For those of you who know, you know. For those of you who don’t know, just remember that name: Steve Albini.”
Albini was the recording engineer for Nirvana’s final album In Utero, and Grohl spotlighted Albini’s studio in an episode of his Sonic Highways series.
Albini died this week at the age of 61.
