A federal judge in Florida lifted the national mask mandate covering airplanes, trains, buses, and other public transportation Monday.

The mask mandate is voided nationally, but businesses are still allowed to enforce individual rules. Find the updated rules for Bay Area public transportation below:

Mask requirements lifted:

  • San Francisco International Airport
  • San Jose International Airport
  • Oakland International Airport
  • Amtrak

Mask requirements remain in place:

  • BART
  • Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority
  • SF Muni
  • Oakland’s AC Transit

“The CDC continues to recommend that individuals wear masks in indoor transportation settings.” The Oakland Airport tweeted, “We recognize that travelers and employees will have varied opinions about this sudden change, and we ask that people respect the individual decision to wear a face mask or not.”
