Foo Fighters released a cover of Minor Threat’s “I Don’t Wanna Hear It” to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut album.
Dave Grohl finished the vocals for the cover this year, channeling his best Ian MacKaye while keeping up with the song’s brisk tempo.
Grohl has a strong connection to the DC hardcore scene, having written a fan letter to MacKaye at 14 and drumming for Scream, signed to MacKaye’s Dischord Records.
“I Don’t Wanna Hear It” originally appeared on Minor Threat’s 1981 EP before being included on their 1984 compilation.
Foo Fighters’ most recent album, “But Here We Are,” was released in 2023, and they will be playing international shows this fall, including a headlining slot at Corona Capital in Mexico City.
