Metallica’s self-titled album is one of the most commercially successful hard rock projects ever released and continues to sell around the world.
The album reappears on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, marking Metallica’s only title currently featured on the U.K.-based ranking.
It has spent 999 weeks on the chart and is close to becoming the band’s first release to reach 1,000 weeks on the tally.
The album is the band’s longest-charting success on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, with only Master of Puppets coming close with 144 appearances.
Three other studio albums, including Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ and Guns N’ Roses’ ‘Appetite for Destruction,’ have already achieved 1,000 weeks on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart.
