The Capitol Theatre and the Village of Port Chester, N.Y., will honor late Grateful Dead member Phil Lesh with a street dedication on March 14, kicking off a four-night concert series celebrating his 85th birthday.
The corner of Westchester Avenue and Broad Street will be renamed ‘Phil Lesh Lane’ in front of The Capitol Theatre, where Lesh has performed more than 100 times since 2012.
His son, Grahame Lesh, expressed gratitude: “Phil loved The Cap and the entire community that came to his shows here, and our whole family will always feel the love that reflected back to him and all of us.”
The Unbroken Chain concert series will feature Grahame Lesh & Friends with guests like Oteil Burbridge and Warren Haynes.
Lesh dies last October at the age of 84.
