Kansas has canceled their next two concerts due to vocalist Ronnie Platt’s battle with thyroid cancer.
Platt reassured fans about his condition, stating, “Before everyone gets all excited, it has a 99% survival rate [and] it has not spread.”
Assistant band manager J.R. Rees mentioned, “Our goal is to be back on the road as soon as possible,” emphasizing support for Platt.
Platt joined Kansas in 2014 after Steve Walsh’s departure, with the band not requiring an audition but focusing on his fit with the group.
Kansas concluded their 50th-anniversary tour in 2024 and have plans for co-headlining dates with 38 Special in the summer of 2025.
