Jack Osbourne talked more about the controversial plan to create a digital avatar for his father Ozzy, emphasizing that it is not a simple replication but a sophisticated technology built from “authenticated, approved source material” with the family’s consent.
Appearing on the podcast Great Company with Jamie Laing, Osbourne said “This is a living performance, not a rendering.”
He highlights the importance of controlling the digital imprint of his father, asserting, “The most important thing for me is that when we create this digital imprint of Dad, we create it, we own it, we control it,” and clarifies that the technology used is a closed A.I. system, not connected to the Internet.
He also addressed criticisms that the project as a cash grab, stating, “If keeping Dad alive and accessible to a fan is cash grab, then ****ing guilty as charged,” while also emphasizing that the initiative is about ensuring his father’s legacy is preserved rather than exploiting it.
