Gibson has introduced a limited-edition 50th Anniversary Tom Petty Flying V guitar, inspired by the Heartbreakers logo from the band’s debut album, with only 250 units available worldwide.
Adria Petty remarked, “The Heartbreakers logo has been part of the band’s identity since the first album,” emphasizing the significance of the guitar’s design in honoring her father’s legacy and the band’s history.
Beth Heidt, Chief Marketing Officer at Gibson, stated, “It is a profound honor to celebrate 50 years of that music through these instruments and this collection,” highlighting the importance of the anniversary for fans and musicians alike.
The Tom Petty Estate will release a box set titled ‘Origins’ 1971-1978 on November 6, which includes rare and unreleased tracks from Petty’s early years, further commemorating the band’s legacy.
In addition to the guitars, Gibson has launched a lifestyle line in collaboration with the Tom Petty Estate, featuring various merchandise, including a limited-edition black leather jacket reminiscent of one Petty wore on his debut album cover.
