U2 have announced the first dates for their 2027 world tour, Carnaval de Luz Presents: The Greatest Show on Earth, which is set to kick off February 23 in Mexico City. The legendary Irish rock band has confirmed six stadium performances across Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina, with additional dates in North America, Europe, and their home country of Ireland expected to be announced. The tour will support the band’s upcoming 16th studio album, Carnaval De Luz, scheduled for release November 13, marking their first album of new original material since 2017’s Songs of Experience.
The upcoming tour takes its name from U2’s latest single, “The Greatest Show on Earth,” which follows the previously released tracks “Street of Dreams” and “Silencio.” The band has also released a music video for the new single, offering fans another preview of their upcoming album. Earlier this year, U2 released two EPs, Days of Ash in February and Easter Lily in April, continuing a creative resurgence that also included their 2023 reimagined collection Songs of Surrender and the 2024 archival release How to Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb.
The newly announced tour dates include two performances at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City on February 23 and 26, followed by shows at Estádio MorumBIS in São Paulo, Brazil, on March 10 and 12. The band will then head to Buenos Aires, Argentina, for concerts at Estadio River Plate on March 23 and 25. In announcing the tour, U2 described “The Greatest Show on Earth” as a challenge to themselves to deliver an unforgettable live experience, promising a colorful production filled with music, energy, and spectacle. More tour dates are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
