Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” is getting a rare moment in Hollywood, with the iconic 1971 rock anthem featured in the first trailer for Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew. The song’s appearance marks a major licensing milestone for one of rock’s most legendary tracks, which has famously been difficult to secure for film use.
Gerwig revealed she personally met with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant to discuss using the song, explaining how its themes of spirituality, enlightenment and life’s journey aligned with the story. The band ultimately gave the filmmaker permission to feature the track, offering a new generation of listeners a chance to experience the classic in a cinematic setting.
More than 50 years after its release, “Stairway to Heaven” remains one of rock’s most enduring songs — and its long-awaited Hollywood moment is finally here.
