Chasta and Baby Huey caught up with P.O.D. backstage at Aftershock to talk about the band’s resurgence after more than three decades together and the next chapter of their career. The band discussed their heavy new song “Outbreak,” a forthcoming record and a massive summer of festivals that took them around the world. They also revealed that Walter Schreifels of Quicksand appears on an upcoming song called “Into the Light.”
The conversation also turned to mental health, faith and the importance of supporting people through difficult moments. P.O.D. reflected on a private group of men from throughout the rock community who encourage and support one another, while emphasizing the importance of reaching out for help. The band also looked back on their MTV and TRL years, remembering when fans had to call in to request videos and how that grassroots support helped introduce P.O.D. to a much larger audience.
