Foo Fighters joined AC/DC for a massive sold-out show in St. Louis, and for Dave Grohl, the night represented the fulfillment of a childhood dream.
Grohl has never hidden his love for AC/DC. Foo Fighters have frequently covered “Let There Be Rock,” and Grohl has previously described playing drums for the legendary band as one of his ultimate musical dreams.
Foo Fighters delivered a hit-packed set featuring “The Pretender,” “Best of You” and a closing performance of “Everlong.” AC/DC followed with a set loaded with classics, including “Back in Black” and “Highway to Hell,” alongside songs such as “Riff Raff” and “Shot in the Dark.”
The two bands even share an interesting piece of touring history. Grohl’s famous stage throne, originally built after he injured his leg, was later loaned to Axl Rose when Rose performed with AC/DC during the Rock or Bust tour.
For Grohl, sharing a stadium bill with one of his lifelong influences brought that connection full circle.
