Rhino High Fidelity has released reel-to-reel versions of Black Sabbath’s first album and “Paranoid,” with only 500 copies available worldwide.
The tapes were duplicated in real time from 1:1 copies of the U.S. analog master recordings, following specific technical standards and stored on premium RTM LPR90 tape stock.
Black Sabbath’s first album, released in February 1970, featured iconic tracks like “Black Sabbath” and “N.I.B.,” reaching No. 8 on the U.K. chart and No. 23 on the Billboard 200.
“Paranoid,” released in September 1970, included hits like “Iron Man” and “War Pigs,” topping the U.K. charts and selling over four million copies in the U.S.
