“Hard to Handle” was brought in for the record and was important to the band as they wanted people to know where they were coming from, being from Georgia like Otis Redding.
The band’s ballad “She Talks to Angels” was written sincerely and not as a device for rock bands during the power-ballad era.
“Sting Me” from the album ‘The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion’ was as close to a protest song as the band ever got, reflecting on the blind patriotism and wild concerts of the ’90s.
