George Thorogood has never believed in chasing trends. During his conversation with Chasta & Baby Huey on 107.7 The Bone, the blues-rock legend reflected on getting his start as a street musician in San Francisco, finding the guitar that shaped his signature sound, and why fate has played a role throughout his career.
Thorogood also explained why he never changed his music to fit the times, saying he simply does what comes naturally and lets the songs speak for themselves. From opening for The Rolling Stones to becoming a classic rock staple, his philosophy has remained the same: entertain the audience and stay authentic.
He also shared heartfelt advice for young musicians, encouraging parents to tell kids to “play” instead of “practice,” because music should always be about joy.
