Tommy Lee discussed Mötley Crüe’s upcoming mid-July tour dates and the band’s return to the road after an extended break.
Lee described the internal conflict musicians face between life on stage and personal time at home, saying, “The grass is always greener, dude. When you’re out there ripping it, you’re like, ‘This is rad.’ And then after a while, you’re like, ‘I’d shoot my own mom in the back to sleep in my bed.’ Then when you’re at home too long, you’re like, ‘Dude, I got to get out of here.’ That’s a weird balance.”
The drummer has found renewed motivation in witnessing the multi-generational impact of Mötley Crüe’s music, with original fans now bringing their children to shows.
