Nirvana’s last studio session on January 30, 1994, led to a legal battle over the song they recorded.
Hole’s ‘Unplugged’ session in 1995 included two songs written by Kurt Cobain, against the band’s wishes.
The song recorded by Nirvana on January 30, 1994, titled “You Know You’re Right,” became the center of a bitter legal battle between Courtney Love and Nirvana’s former bandmates.
The dispute over the release of “You Know You’re Right” ended with the song being included in a single-disc Nirvana compilation and Kurt Cobain’s solo acoustic demo in a box set.
Dave Grohl described “You Know You’re Right” as “beautiful and disturbing” and reflected on Kurt Cobain’s emotional state during the recording.
