As AEW and NJPW’s Forbidden Door 2026 heads to SAP Center in San Jose on June 28, AEW star Claudio Castagnoli says the company is riding a wave of momentum unlike anything he’s seen in years.
Speaking with 107.7 The Bone’s Baby Huey, Castagnoli credited AEW’s recent success to patience, long-term storytelling, and a roster filled with unique personalities and wrestling styles.
“I feel AEW has been on a huge upswing,” Castagnoli said. “We’re playing to our strengths.”
The Death Riders member also praised AEW World Champion Jon Moxley, calling him one of the company’s most important figures and someone the locker room can always rely on when challenges arise.
Beyond AEW, Castagnoli discussed attending his first FIFA World Cup match in the Bay Area, his love of finding local coffee shops while traveling, and the growing global popularity of CMLL and lucha libre in Mexico.
AEW’s Forbidden Door takes place Sunday, June 28, at SAP Center in San Jose. Ticket details are available here.
