Beastie Boys Legend Mike D Returns with New Solo Album

Mike D has announced his debut solo album, Thank You, arriving August 28 via Fontana. The project was created through relaxed, low-pressure recording sessions at Mike D’s home studio alongside collaborators including Carter Lang and Jared Solomon. Known for his work with the Beastie Boys, Mike D says he hopes the music brings people joy and doesn’t take itself too seriously, especially given the state of the world today. The album includes tracks such as “True Colors,” “What We Got,” and “Switch Up,” with a new visualizer accompanying the latest single. Mike D has also been performing under the Mike 5D moniker, recently appearing in the U.K. and preparing for additional European dates through June.
