Rush are preparing 38 songs for their ‘Fifty Something’ tour, which begins next month.
In an interview with the New York Times, who attended a band rehearsal in Toronto, it’s reported that Lee jokingly told drummer Anika Nilles, “I can’t keep up with you!” after they’d played one of Rush’s more complicated songs, before the pair exchanged a celebratory high-five.
Geddy Lee expresses his enjoyment of playing with Nilles, stating, “I’m going to be a bit sad when we hit the stage and I’m facing the audience and not facing her. Because I’m having so much fun playing along with her.”
Geddy Lee has also benefited from sessions with a vocal coach, who helped bring back part of his range.
